Title: This makes my blood boil!
Post by: DUNJA WRBKA on June 28, 2009, 03:58:42 PM
The senseless killing of our countries animals by foreign tourists for the sake of a trophy makes my blood boil.  How can this be allowed?

I dont condone hunting just for trophy, but if its for your dinner or biltong thats ok with me

Trophy hunting however brings cash.......who ever takes that cash is more then happy

Trophy hunting is not only done by foreigners

Hunting in general is a big discussion in our Namibia Forum here, pros and cons are having fights.

Cheetah hunting is now stopped by law in Nam, look at the airport and see who those hunters are, make your own judgement.

When a decision is made to cull x amount of whatever, the government issues  permits and take the cash

Who are we in Europe to complain about what happens in Africa

It all comes down to money, especially with these so called game reserves that encourage "canned" hunting.

Even if this and other forms of hunting were eliminated, the black market type of trophy hunting would escalate to enormous highs.

The only way to stop trophy hunting is to ban it outright and imprison anyone caught with their trophies

Besides that, also shot in SA

See the article in the AZ

A month or so ago , somewhere in Gauteng , a truck carrying Cyanide was hijacked . the poison disappeared without a trace  . Last week , in a Zim game park , more than 40 elephant were poisoned . Salt mixed with Cyanide was placed near the water holes. Only the elephants teeth were removed and it was found
in a nearby village ready to be shipped too China . Co incidence ? makes me wonder . No1
