Alf, I think you're right... Old Natangwe that worked with me at Town Electric in the 90's told me once that he had worked there as a farm attendant of sorts "by die plaas... on one of his first contracts at CDM in the 60's... He spoke of pigs.
The heaps and drums full of old bones are of worked meat, as they are cut as one would cut up (saw) shins etc. There are similar heaps of bones east of the abattoir in town; well in the desert towards the fence and near the sand quarry.
