Attached some photos from last week's Arbor Day celebrations.
This year the Grade 6 classes had the honour of planting trees at OPS to
celebrate Arbor Day. The school wishes to thank Mrs. Sue Hodgson from
the Flower Pot for donating three trees that were planted last week
Friday, 11 September 2009. A big thank you also goes to Mr. Hans
Profijt, Grade 6 Curriculum Coordinator and his team for being prepared
of getting 'their hands dirty' and organizing this important event so
successfully.
Thanks to Sue and the Flowerpot, great to see some local sponsors.....
woo_hoo
Just a small observation ... do the school kids not wear blazers anymore? I see they have tracksuit tops with the school badge.
Ooops, I forgot the last pics....
@Patricia, No School Blazers are a relic of the past, too hot and to expensive for most of the parents...
Patricia - the Gr 1-7's wear windbreakers (much warmer and more practical) and the Grade 8's wear black blazers with red ties (in support of Rhodes of course!). There is a photo of the Grade 8's on the forum somewhere - will get Mike to copy it across.
Back to Arbor Day - I can remember planting trees in the new quad area back when I was at OPS - it is great to see the tradition is still going strong.
Dieter - well done, the school and it's gardens are looking super!
