Ja, this was reported on the Damara radio station, heard the tale from one of the workers, did'nt want to comment until I knew something concrete..... the chap was arrested and is sitting in the jail since last week, I was told that he was the uncle to the 9 year old girl, he is 20 years old himself...... he babysits the kids for his brother who works on the mine.,,,,

There was an article in the economist newspaper, about how bad crime id becoming in general in Namibia now..... all over the place, tourists being robbed in broad daylight.... in the middle of WHK...... murders , rapes and robberies, but as the journalist who wrote the article said, what more do you expect the Namibian police force to do, lets face facts, compared to international standards.,.... they ain;t real police, they are underpaid and undertrained..... it's fine for the main party to be spending money on big museums and monuments..... but the money could have been spent wiser.......
As this was in my unread posts I had a look at the download and the comments by Michael, I can not read Afrikaans but I can understand the content.
The older I get the less I understand we humans, I am privileged to having access to five beautiful kids!! the joy I get from seeing them now and again (they live 350 kilometers away) is indescribable.
I know most grandparent would feel similar.................................maybe the punishment will fit the crime, he is 20 years of age!!!...I don't think he will stand a chance in prison.
