I was actually looking for a photo of Brian and Linda Ralph regarding Georg Jnr's topic and came upon these.
Just a reminder of our thriving cricket club back in the late 70's and early 80's and of the high standard of cricket played. These are photo's of the Western Provence Country Districts team 1978 -1981. Our guys always featured. Brings back memories of my cricket widow days.
Thanks Diana, the only one still here, would be young Terence Holland.....
Photo # 1 ,, isnt the Ian Mac Cullum a practicing chiropracter in CT ...??? very familiar face ,,
Ok grey cells just rattled into order .. ... Ian was a doc in Om his brother Roy is the chiropracter in prcatice with his sister Susan in CT ,,
I think he is a orthopedic surgeon. Was at Panorama Clinic a while back if I'm remembering right. Now I'm also thinking he was a springbok rugby player at some time.
Before he came to O'mund. Must check with Stephen, not sure about this but seem to remember something like that.
Ok he is a Psychiatrist. Played Springbok Rugby 1970-1974.
It amazes me how many Psychiatrist's you seem to know, is there something you want to tell me.....?

A Diana BierSuip I was refering to the Roy
Both brothers, Roy (scrum-half) and Ian (full-back) played for the 'Boks. I think they played in the same team in '74!
... So these guys are also ex Omunders then? I got lost on the thread, if thats the case, then we have a few top class sportsmen from Omund!
Dr Ian came to work for a while in O'mund in the mid 70's ..
Thats it Sandy Ian came to O'mund in 1975, well his in the photo of 1978. So must have been in O'mund during this time. Maybe not a true O'munder but I'm sure we can lay claim to him. image041
Ian also played squash for Namibia - SWA in those days. I think he also spent some time in Kleinzee. Often guys like him had an Anglo/De Beers bursary to get through uni and part of the payback would be to spend a certain number of years on their mines. For all his success he was one of the most unassuming people you could ever wish to meet.
Hey guys, what a small world but the C Coetzee standing next Ian Macallum is not other than a very youthful Charl Coetzee the current Deputy CEO of Northlink College.
Charl Coetzee
Small is our world. Will mention that to Stephen.

Hi Diana, I replied to Georg Jnr's topic (http://www.oranjemundonline.com/Forum/index.php?topic=3620.0 (http://www.oranjemundonline.com/Forum/index.php?topic=3620.0)).
Surname is Ralphs (if that helps) and I think you need to look starting possibly as early as '73, but mostly '74-'76, possibly also '77 for my dad.
You're not going to find any recent hockey photo's of them though - bowls is more their sport these days :)

As circled on the far right of the attached photo...
Diana & Sandy . Quite correct dr Ian , medical docter in O' Mund. he was the springbok rugby man , and Roy had the chiropractice in cape town . Ian joined his brother at the practice . I believe he is presently involved with nature conservation
