The wind was pumping yesterday (and Today) from the North West, 44.7 knots, almost Gale force...... the dry loose desert sands to the North West of the town decided to migrate to the South West of our little Oasis....... So The Alexander Reporters headed outta the town to take these snaps of the moving sands down towards the GOlf COurse....
CAN ALMOST TASTE THE GRIT IN MY MOUTH ...
Nice pics
Yep! and now the sand has gone and alles has turned into brown slush puppies.....

Nice pics Mike. It never ceases to amaze me how the sand gets in to everything even with the windows closed. Our house is like a sand pit after yesterday.
The appropriate Oranjemund smilie would be two eyes peering out of a sand dune....
The dust storms we had back in OZ reminded me of all the sand storms in O/M................. Hot(1). image04
I remember being hit by the sand in the wind at the beach - how I miss that, strange but true, but experiencing that discomfort right now would mean that I am in Oranjemund. Will take it any time! Lets swop - the city's smokey/smoggy wind for the sand of the Namib.... No choice really!
......and how that sand stung our legs.
What still gets me is how hot the beach sand gets here, if you are barefoot and it's summer...try walking from the parking lot at the mouth to the waters edge...... alll you see ... is barefoot people trying to stand on pieces of wood.....
I wonder what the temp of that sand must be.....?
