Michele and I popped over to the Oranjemund Post Office this afternoon to enquire what , if there was, any problem with the mail delivery to Oranjemund, seeing that Michele (Spar) had not received any post, as she was waiting for statements..... The Spar post box is used by 64 employee's to have their mail sent to , so is usually jammed with mail on a daily basis..... however for the last three days, there has been nothing, not a cockcroach..... anyhow.... our jaws dropped in amazement as the lady behind the counter informed us, without blinking an eyelid..... that the mail was piled high in the back room , but had not been sorted recently as they are understaffed and head office reckons that this Post office is not profitable.....
Gee! Bugger the rest of us.....
Wonder if the mine still depends on this form of snail mail.....

Bugger that! ...... Nampost is up the pole again..... It appears that the mail is only arriving here once a week now..... Business and the mine are suffering , no post, no bills, no statements....
