I saw this today for the first time in a very long time. It all came flooding back to me..... there was a dog chasing it's owners car through town this afternoon, not just 100 m , but all the way down the avenues.....
then I remembered how in my youth in oranjemund, that there were quite a few people who had dogs that chased the owners cars through town..... I don't think you get this happening much in the city these days......
There was also, always that one schoolkid who always had his dog follow him to OPS and then had to spend the morning carrying the dog home
Just a two cent memory.....
are-you-there
dogs chasing cars .. always gives me the heebies ... My patches used to have a game ,, wait for me at the bottom of the road and follow car all the way home till one day she got too close to the front wheel ,, she got clipped and sent flying , no damage excepting the black tyre mark along her flank ... needless to say she stopped ... now heres advice for anyone finding themselves randomly chased by a dog .. ( my dad tought me this one ) it requires patience but if a dog decides to chase you bicycle , motorbike or car ,, you stop and engage the animal scold whaterever ,,, when they realise the moving object contains a human being they generally back off ,, if it happens again one persists ,, found it works ,, but yes patience ,, nothing worse than finding onself running an animal over ...
Talking about dogs chasing motor vehicles!! we regularly use the main highways and I think the motorists have the same mentality as the dogs!!..... they all seem to be up the back end or chasing the car in front................. the police call it tailgating and demerit points and fines apply............ motorbike
