Title: WATER OR COKE ?........(not the stuff they sniff)
Post by: toonfandangl on January 21, 2010, 12:33:12 PM

                      Water or Coke?..............  Very interesting

WATER

#1.   75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population)

#2.     In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3.   Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4.  One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs
for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of
Washington study.

#5.     Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6.   Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7.   A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term
memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on
the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8..   Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of
colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast
cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop
bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water
you should drink every day?

COKE

#1.   In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2.     You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.

#3.    To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.

#4.   To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

#5.   To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6.  To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7.   To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into
the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix
with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

#8...  To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen
grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your
windshield.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

#1     the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

#2.   To carry Coca-Cola syrup! (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

#3.   The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean

engines of the trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?

                             or Coke?

Read somewhere that 90% of a persons daily little aches and pains eg. headaches, etc. are simply due to not enough water.

I worked at Coke Canners in Epping and the phosphoric acid in coke has warnings on the drums "dont drink undiluted and wear hand protection,,,,, you should see what that stuff does to the bolts and nuts that bolt that filling machine to the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!! and to the rest of the machine, it eats the metal away. Good thing the human digestive system is very uniqe in beieng able to neutralise a small amount of the dangers  coke can cause, and i say small as a lot of us love our coke. Whether u drink Coke, Pepsi,Cola from other companies name brands, shoprite, pnp, jive, u are still getting a strong dose of caffene in it which makes u addictive to the beverage so put aside the phosphoric acid  which is the real killer in it all.Drink Coke lite or Zero and check whats in there ,Saccarin which is also a killer. What is in Coke,CARAMEL, and that comes from SUGAR and sugar is supposed to be bad for you??????????

Only three percent of the water on Earth is freshwater, and about two-thirds of this is frozen in glaciers and most of the rest is underground and only 0.3 percent is surface water. Freshwater lakes, most notably Lake Baikal in Russia and the Great Lakes in North America, contain seven-eighths of this fresh surface water. Swamps have most of the balance with only a small amount in rivers, most notably the Amazon River. The atmosphere contains 0.04% water

Above is from Wikipedia. It shows just how precious WATER is (I have been complaining on how much council charges for water) its more expensive than petrol that's $1:30 per liter and bottled water is anywhere from $2:50 per 600mm to $5:00 at a recent air show......Coke and the other soft drink Co charge around 3 to 4 dollars for their stuff.................. I will continue to drink RUM.

Phosphoric acid is in daily use within our laboratory - we use it to acidify and pH vatious mobile phases etc; Thick, gloopy nasty stuff that requires gloves and a fume-hood when using.......couldn't imagine drinking it - even with lots of sugar added. But then Im not a coke fan either - don't like the way it burns the back of the throat when drinking....  image 11

I always wonder how on earth the scientists work out that only 3 % of the water is fresh?

Seventy percent of the Earth surface is covered by water. The remaining 30 percent is covered by mountains, volcanoes, deserts, plains, and valleys.I found this while looking up freshwater.

Icebergs are made from freshwater

"Around the curve at the polar opening is another ring of ice, called the Great Massive Fresh Water Ice Pack or Ice Barrier. Here is where icebergs originate. Each winter, this ring of ice is formed from fresh water which flows out from the inside of the Earth. During the winter months, billions of tons of free-flowing fresh water, coming from rivers inside the Earth and flowing toward the outside through the polar openings, freeze at their mouth and form mountains of fresh water ice, whose presence in this region would be inexplicable if the Earth was a solid sphere. In summer time, huge icebergs, miles long, break off and float to the outside of the Earth. They are composed of fresh water, when there could exist only salt water at the poles. Since this is the case and since all water on the outside of the Earth in these regions is salty, the fresh water of which these icebergs are composed must come from its interior."

"There was less than two inches of rainfall in eleven and one-half months, and while it snowed quite frequently, it never fell to any great depth. Under such conditions, where would materials be found to produce an iceberg? Yet the greatest one on earth is there - one so large that it is called the Great Ice Barrier, rather than an iceberg - being over four hundred miles long and fifty miles wide. It is grounded in two thousand one hundred feet of water, and extends from eighty to two hundred feet above water."

Maybe some of the facts are correct but this guy thinks the earth is hollow and that extraterrestrial live there and fly around in saucers.

"It is the purpose of this book to present scientific evidence to prove that the Earth, rather than being a solid sphere with a fiery center of molten metal, as generally supposed, is really hollow, with openings at its poles. Also, in its hollow interior exists an advanced civilization which is the creator of the flying saucers."

Its amazing what you find on the Internet I always thought it was made of cheese!!!..........or is that the moon!.....well one of them
