Now who can remember when CDM supplied parrafin and a three burner stove

I remember my Mom talking about the parrafin stoves .. when they first arrived that was what was available .. diabolical things as if you did not trim the wick properly and set the flame right .. turn your back .. and your home was filled with the floaty bits of soot not to metion how that soot stained the pots .. so the gas stoves despite their problems were a godsend !
They were horrible sooty things, there was a black metal box that fitted on top of the stove and was used as an oven. What ever you cooked in it tased of parrafin
