Worst flood I ever experienced in Oranjemund was 1988.
The news got to us at boarding school that the town might wash away... yeah right, need a salami (Tsunami) for that to happen.
Haven't experienced a flood quite that rough since. Who knows, perhaps this is the one...
No matter how much damage floods do there is another side to the coin (not much fun to those caught up in them) the dams agriculture and are way of life benefit greatly.

Thanks guys, she's at the hospital as I post...poor medical staff. You know our Paula, once she's p...d off there's no holding her back, even I step aside. She told the Doc's secretary, "if you don't get this poo sorted, I'll come down there and throttle you"
