So there I was, on the dirt track behind the off-road club this morning, admiring the aquatic marvel before me, thundering warm mist and water...... camera, clicking away at trivial reeds and birds, when out of the corner of my eye, as the mist parted to the west, I caught the glimpse of a jet sitting on the runway out of place..... right on the southern end of the strip facing in the wrong direction, At first I had thought it had overshot the runway and was stuck in the sand....
Perhaps it was just taxiing to the end of the strip to turn around for take off..... i watched , amused at this metal flying machine..... 5 minutes later, nothing had happened, she had not moved...... scurrying into my bakkie, armed with my camera.,.... I pointed the bakkies nose towards the aerodrome......
As I reached the airport turnoff..... the plane had repostioned herself to face across the runway..... I saw a red suit chap scampering around the tarmac, I wondered if he was looking for his contact lense or something..... I snapped a few shot's as I cruised by.... the ceremonial wave to the red overall clad individual.......
It appears that they were merely testing the engines as far away from the terminus as possible..... what I did find amusing was to see the letters CDM still stamped across the tail of the jet..... I also wondered to myself, how old this sleek metal bird was this year....
