Well, soon there shall be only one..... Well that is only one Scotsman left in Oranjemund, namely my father , Jock...... On Friday Night, Bob Burrell will be having his farewell at the rugby club...... Bob and his wife , Morag have been here for more than 10 years.... and will be departing for the Cape Soon..... I believe that there will be 4 sheep on the Spit for the farewell grub on friday, and by all accounts the weather should be warm.......
I also heard that the number of people attending this function has swelled to 150 persons..... this is gonna be one of those big parties..... really big.......
UPDATE: 158 people and the function has now been moved to the REC Club Main Hall..... and the sheep have increased to 5 ...
When I went to swim my 40 lengths this morning in the town pool..... the fires had already been lit......
Got a strange feeling that this is gonna be a good good night!

What a splendid evening. Great DVD, surprise visitors from Kleinzee, tears, smiles and laughter. Great food by A and J caterers, fantastic job by the hockey club (the very important liquid refreshment) and kind to the environment table and hall decorations. The only blip was the "NAMPOL Road Block" by the corner of the Church and FNB. Now on the Thursday evening at the awards ceremony, not one breatherliser to be seen. On the Friday evening plenty. Now my questions. Was it because it was month end? Was it because that many if not all of senior management were there and many guests at a farewell party and enjoying themselves? Why that particular spot when sportsmans, nightcall, coolbox, the don etc were doing roaring business? Imagine if they had caught someone? Thankfully somebody left early and had the presence of mind to drive back to the rec club and warn every body, not that there were inebriated guests, but with the new limit of 0.04% which = 1 beer, one glass of wine or one brandy and coke, most of the guests would have been over the limit, it could have led to some pretty interesting situations. So why Nampol? what gives, only targeting a certain group of individuals. Makes you think especially when at Christmas, when a car was rolled and the individual was flown to Windhoek with terrible injuries, that Nampol were not allowed to take blood due to injuries and the MVA fund paid for the flight. I wonder if the MVA would have paid for the flight if they had known how drunk the person concerned was? Just my two dollars worth. Thank goodness that as this town is quite small allot of the guests left their vehicles and walked home and collected them the next day and thank goodness that other halves who are pregnant could drive home as they had not been drinking. Thank you baby.
