Post by: RichardGerstner on September 23, 2007, 07:53:40 PM
The alleyways were the coolest thing ever. Got you home real quick, just in time for the 16h05 hooter.

Wow, Good Question.

My guess is;

06h30
07h00
12h30
13h00
14h00
16h05

Of course I may be well out here, I am sure somebody will come to my rescue.

Regards
Richard

Not being racist, but when you tell the young black kids( 18-30 ) here about how the blacks had to be back in the Hostel at 16h00 when the hooter went, or the rich ovambo's in those days were the ones who rode a bike, they don't believe you...Never!

Now even the bedrock cleaners are driving Pajero's and BMW.........

time's are a changing.
CDM was always a good company to work for, spread the wealth, hey.
It's interesting times we live in is what Daniel OConnell said, relevant every generation.

Someone else remembers the hooter.  My kids roll with laughter when I tell them about the hooter.  In our house the hooter was followed by the banging of the screen door on the back door as our friends ducked before my dad arrived home.  Inside the house there was a mad scurry to tidy up and get your school gear into the bedroom and your homework books out before dad walked in at 4.15pm.
