This year's Oranjemunders Cape Town Bash 2010 will be held as follow:
DATE: Saturday 25 September 2010
TIME: 16:00 till Late
VENUE: ZONNEKUS HOLIDAY RESORT; Recreation Club
MORNINGSTAR, on the N7 to Malmesbury (Map is available)
I suggest you arrive between 12:00 & 14:00 to book in and get ready for the Party which will begin at 16:00 and carry on untill late. This will give everone ample time to catch up on everything. Or seeing it is a long weekend, feel free to camp there for the weekend.

Is it true that all the Chalets are already booked out for this event?
As per my conversation with Susanne from Zonnekus Holiday Resort yesterday, there were only 2 chalets still available and plenty camping sites. I know the chalets sleep 4 - 6 and I am sure if you ask around some people in the chalets would not mind sharing. Will get a full updated list of bookings from Zonnekus on Monday when I go there. Will keep you posted. We can also only accommodate 150 people with regards to the event / catering. Those who want to book must wake up and book to avoid disappointment.
I have tracked down Johan Krige / Oros & the guys who had the band in Oranjemund and is now known as Bad Apple. They will be playing for us on that evening. Spitbraai is booked and plenty of Jaggermeister ordered.

There is only 50 more spaces available. No tickets will be available at the entrance on that day. So please book now to avoid disappointment. To those of you who have booked and paid. I suggest you bring your own bedding if you booked a chalet and please remember to bring something warm to wear for the evening.

Hi3 Well all fellow Oranjemunders. This will be my final update until next weekend. There here are only 29 spaces left. I am of course now sitting with a dilemma - my Husky is giving birth sometime in this week. I just hope it is not on the weekend. But I have a plan B in place - "Baby Sitter" for just in case. So we are now on full alert. Hubby will just have to up and leave if it is on Saturday evening. I cannot leave the guests hight and dry. msn emoticon (224)

Once you on the N7 from Cape Town side - Keep going until you reach the "Weigh Bridge" - Exactly 1km from there is the turn-off. There is a brown Board showing Zonnekus / Morningstar.
Once on that road, follow the Zonnekus / Coco-Cola Boards.
Parking for campers will be either at your chalets or camp site. Parking for the rest of the patrons will be on the grounds. You will be directed where to park.

Mike it was only my pleasure. Was great to see all the meeting and greetings between friends.
Well, what can I say, I am already planning next year's events and this time we will be taking Hermanus over, that is if I can get hold of Sam and Rene to discuss using their Pub as our venue. So watch this space. Overseas crowd, start saving - we would love to have you all here.
I wish to thank everyone who attended, especially everyone who came from afar. I was extremely amazed to see so many together. In the end we were 87 people. Well done guys. Hope you all had a blast.

To all fellow Oranjemunders who attended Saturday's Oranjemund Get-Together 2010 Bash – THANK YOU so much for attending; especially those who came from afar. Thanks guys, without you there would not have been such a blast from the past. In the end we were 87 people.
The afternoon started on a slow and at one stage I thought O Boy this party is not happening. Silly me – always stressing. Well let's just say after the meeting and greeting was over; stomachs were lined with excellent Spitbraai, salads, veggie pot and rolls and then the beat of great music; this party took off in great Oranjemund style. Amidst one or two moaners and groaners (It is fact - you just cannot keep everyone happy) and the "Pink Lady's" prattle; everyone had a fine time. Not excluding the "midnight Oil" crowd; who certainly had the "Pink Lady" up in arms until 4:10 in the morning. Poor woman, they were not prepared for this Oranjemund crowd, this after I warned them well in advance that we party hard. I should send her a complimentary Spa voucher to enjoy a de-stress session.
For those of you, who have photos to post, please post it on this site. I am sure some extremely interesting photos will surface.
Due to such a great demand for yet another event, I am already planning next year's get-together. So all you overseas crowd, please start saving so long. As it seems, we are taking Hermanus by storm. That is if I can get hold of Sam and Rene Seal to discuss using their pub for this get-together, otherwise we will look for an even bigger venue which will hopefully satisfy everyone's preferences and likings. This will be an entire weekend affair because I realized that an evening is just hopelessly too short to catch up on all the news.
Well, I am signing off, still on a high from the weekend. My sincere thanks once again to everyone who attended. I trust you had a blast.
