I have heard from three different sources today, that the recent MUN meeting was quite robust and vocal. From what I can gather, the workers are preparing to strike. I mentioned to a source from the meeting, that you cannot just strike, there are procedures to be followed, to which my source informed me, that this is currently being applied for.
.... Sigh, in such a fragile, an attempt to strike would appear foolish..... but then, that is just my educated opinion.......
Let's hope maturity prevails and an amicable conclusion that can benefit both parties can be reached!

Strike, toi-toi, just dont show for work.... it's your right if you live in Africa...
We are not educated yet.... and intelligence lacks behind a few other species...

The Shop floor was rather quite today with regard to this strike.....
Somebody mentioned that the Union misunderstood what Management was trying to do.... and in their traditional narrow minded fashion did not grasp the "big" picture......
Mmm Unions a good and bad thing all rolled into one ... depends if there are Malema type cretins in charge . or pragmatic beings looking at what you refer to as the big picture...
Was talking "union" with some of the guys in our workshop and many of the longer serving employees (members) were concerned about the shortcomings of the youthful committee elected of late. The feekingis that they don't have the experience nor insight to dealing with big company matters in a beneficial and professional manner. There shortsightedness would leave them fighting over the small fish and not paying attention to the big 'uns.
Probably the same opinion previous genarations have had wrt other unions too.
I agree, the youth tend to be more blinkered and more militant...... more prone to doing rash decisions....
I was talking to a senior person in the union this morning, reckons that there is no strike action planned, seems a certain Gov minister, warned them about the seriousness of strike action.... Follow the correct protocols and strike action should only be used as a final form of action..... seems like the union might be growing up!
