Help anybody
looking for a company, assistance to have 8mm movies copied to DVD????????
Alfred
Hello Alfred! I did have all my 8 and super 8mm film put on DVD that was a few years ago and they were OK but have heard there are better ways of doing it these days and it could be costly depending on who you go to. These are a couple of sites you can look at and I did hear you can do it yourself, it requires a hinged mirror so you can set up your film projector and your digital camera, projecting the film onto the mirror whilst the camera is facing the other mirror and is recording I'm not sure if this work well though. good luck....................Frank

Thanks Frank will go look at those sites
Alfred
I converted all my 8mm by projecting it on a wall with the projector about a meter from the wall. I placed a camcorder at the same hight next to the projector and shited the setup around to minimise the skew picture. I zoomed the camera slightly smaller than the picture on the wall to get rid of some distortion but losing a little content. On editing, you can seperate the sound and video and put in your own audio.
Since the older 8 mm quality is not so great, if there is a loss using this method, it certainly didnt phase me since I want the inforamtion not the quality. I used Adobe Premiere software. Hope this helps. The price is great and if you dont like it, get it done pofessionally (?).
John
John as you said you did it for memories not quality I will go the same way the films we've got are also bad thanks for the suggestion
