I just drove my father in law down to the airport this morning to catch the medical flight to CPT. A letter was issued this week, that due to budget restraints, the company will be stopping the medical flights to and will be bussing people to CPT to see the specialists. Another benefit to Company employees gone.
In the old days it was these kind of benefits that lured people here, but sadly the company seems to have forgotten this.
:-[
Mike, I trust that does not include medical emergencies being sent down by ambulance.
No Clive thats what the horses are here for.....
I guess it won't effect the "lot" that gets CAR ALLOWANCE, mind you they might start using their car allowance now for traveling!!
Paula
Careful Paula, don't get Adriaan started on that "Lot" with car allowances.... ;D
So Adriaan what do you think about the car allowance, Mike really wants to know?!
haha
Paula
:o
Don't say I did'nt warn you......
Adriaan that game work that I gave you?
???
I'm scared really scared..hahahaha
Paula
;D
They cant use their car allowances cause they have already spent it at spar hahahahar.
No Mike the GAME did not work.....again yukyuk
Hopefully nobody from the office of the Receiver of Revenue reads this stuff, 'cause I'm sure the guys who receive travel allowances declare "truthfully" on the tax retrun papers that is was used for traveling expences (log book & service records included)!! Adriaan, do you enter the amount spent at Spar into the "Kilometers travelled" section?
It's actually a matter of concern - the cancelling of the flights. From what I gather, the argument for cancelling is based on costs being to high for the company. Is the diamond industry so bad - it just does'nt add up to their annual figures of profit and if you look at their share prices. The total revenue of the company also is not earned from proceeds at Oranjemund alone (I'm aware of the fact that reports for that specific branch or department, has to be in black figures), but for the life of me I cannot think that well scheduled medical flights for employee's can drag your profits downwards. What about the loss of man-hours, calculated to income per hour, figures? Absence from work also costs the company a lot of money, 'cause the employee still has to receive his salary - the shorter term away from work, the less the company loses. !!!!!!!! I don't have inside info about anything of the company or their cost structures etc. This is just a way to air my view of the situation!!!!!!!!! I may be completely wrong and besides, I don't have a say in it.
Perhaps it might be more of a case of the service being abused by a few..... ???
"abused by a few" you are being very nice Mike you might even get a tog bag for that. hahaha
Paula
;D
