Dankie John vir die mooiste fotos. wys jou net , daar is oral in RSA fotos van oud inwoners, wat herinneringe terug bring van die lekker sorgvrye dae , [so tussen die harde werk deur ,] in Oranjemund .

Ja, daar moet duisende fotos wees wat oud Oranjemunders oor die jare geneem het.

My broer het nog, maar dit is nogal 'n proses om hulle te verwerk.  Dit is skyfies wat my pa, Harry Haycox, geneem het.

My broer, Jimmy, het 'n houer vir sy digitale kamera gemaak.  Hy steek die skyfie daar in en neem dit dan af met die digitale kamera.  Dit lyk my dit werk nogal oulik.

Ons sal nog stuur.

John's on a roll..... 4 more snaps from John, thanks...... the rest of you get digging for those old photographs...... once you have left this here earth, nobody will know what they meant..... at least online, they will be here forever....

The cement blocks arround the pool jeee brings back memories, made like that to prevent slipping how mant times did I get a grazzed toes from them

thanks John , Nou het jy my 'n wenk gegee hoe om die skyfies te verwerk ! sal more in die gerage gaan staan en dink hoe om die houer vir die kamera en skyfie te maak

Henniek, Jimmy het eenvoudig 'n stukkie stywe karton gesny om om die lens te gaan.  'n Vierkantige stukkie karton met 'n gat daarin daaraan vas gelym. 'n "spacer" tussen in gesit, nog 'n stukkie karton en "Bob's your uncle"

The snap marked "Car Garage.JPG " , shows the Gates at the Alexander Bay side of the bridge. Funny enough a mere two weeks ago, I pointed those exact two gates out to a visiting journalist whom I was taking out to Hohenfels.... the gates are now on the Namibian side of the river facing the North Bank Road.....

Oh! and looking at the town pool, the pool was widened by at least 3m since those days....

Man! do I miss that high diving board....

Wow. Look how small the trees are next to the pool. They were huge in my time. (or was I small)??

I recall John & Leila Creedy being amazed at how tall the tree's in the town had become when they visited us a few short years ago. They had been absent for 30 years....

John: Pic of church . no 3 of first set. was it a funeral ? I seem to remeber that the hearse was an ordinary bakkie with a raised enclosure for the coffin

The Church looks like Eric Davies Youth Club opposite Coras Cafe ?????
