I heard that a new Strategic Project is under way. My foreman (an old mining hound, now the foreman of W42) got the idea that the old methods of mining and the methods we use now is total different. He got some of the geology knobs together and took them for a show-and-tell in the 1 Plant area. Apparently there are still lank deposits left to reap with the modern mining methods. Heard in this mornings meeting, that the Pocket Beach Plant will be to be moved to the 1 Plant site. This project is supposed to be operational by the end of this year.
Hope this is good news to some...
woo_hoo
CHarles, I heard a similar tale, but my sources told me 2 plant area?
The mine have also just purchased a new mobile screening plant...
Also we mentioned a few times on here awhile back, how that certain areas, particularly up one and two plant are marked as mined out, but in fact had not been, special rich ground that was kept as "backup" by the plants to be used if they never made carat call...
But, yes, indeed positive news....
Correct Mike A.
I suppose it will run from 2 Plant till way past the 1 Plant area.
With the new tech they can push the sea back more then in the olden days.
First they need to do intensive drill sampling and do some digging in the old mining archives.
This might add a few more years to the limping company.
And imagine......all because a old timer had the guts to speak out!!!!!
He is actually the last of his kind left at NAMDEB...... you rock
