Hi there Cherry!
Wow, it is amazing what can find when one looks "deep" enough.
I do hope that the list will grow as I am sure there others who do our little "dorpie" proud.
Trust this finds you well?
"chat" soon
Patricia
p.s. where is Billy these days?? - loved the photo of you, Mom and siblings!! Brought back so many memories (as have most of the topics on this site)
Hi Pat,
Bill is a gentleman farmer near Malmesbury while his longtime girlfriend Shelley runs her own company and brings home the bacon (smart boy!). Send me a contact number and next time I go to Plett to visit the rest of the Alcock brood may stop off on Route 62!
So, we have as above and .....
Kobus Wiese
Percy Montgomery
Mark Shuttleworth
who else people?
Cherry
Hi all
Obviously not as big as the Springbok team, but my mother, Jean Joubert, my brother, Sandy Joubert, and myself all play bowls for the Namibian team. My mother has retired and moved to SA, but Sandy and I still play. We have just been selected to play in the World Bowls 2008 team to be held in New Zealand in January.
Obviously we had to do something to keep ourselves out of trouble in this place!!!
Mike, how about the sponsorship from Spar???
Mike, that huge onions in stock could come in handy for Sheena, might use them as extra balls.....heheh
I Think they are the wrong colour and besides they might make her cry..... :'(
;)
Watch it you two. You should be stocking shelves at Spar - seems to be nothing there!!
I think it's about time Paula came back to town to see to you!!
Sheena - Adriaan isn't allowed in Spar - after he tried to sell my car I showed him the Right of Admission Reserved sign at Spar!
That's the way Michelle. Don't let those two get the better of you!!!
Maybe you should put bar codes on both of them and see who buys them.
Sheena, as you know I already tried selling Mike on the forum so if no old O'munders want to buy him I don't think any new O'munders will want to either. Mind you - the new ones don't know about his past do they! I'm off to stick a barcode on Mike, guess I'll have to let Adriaan back in the shop now!
Sorry to gatecrash you ladies like this, but i could not read the sign at spar this afternoon as i did not have my ears( flat batteries) copy no ears no read. However Michelle your body language told me to bugger off which i promptly did at 16h00,Sheena you better watch your trolley closely from now on hehehehehe. I WILL BE BACK.
Michelle, if you do get to sell those two men, you should just add a note to the agreement of sale that says you do not run a pawn shop, and no returns are allowed.
Let us know under what section in the shop you will place them i.e. : cleaning equipment, household goods, hardware etc.
Hey, guess who's just been on a course - body language! Ha! I thought you might have offered to help me carry my shopping Adriaan! Too busy chatting up the female customers me thinks!
Dalene, I definately won't be putting them in the hardware section as I don't want to take the risk of giving them a 1 year guarantee, probably better to put them in one of the perishable departments as they are nearing their sell-by date!
hi cherry
i saw in the sparks that james blakemore was presented with the best entrepreneur cat. 2008 he is the chairman at zest.this came from 135 cities in 50 countries.

wessel
But is it the same Trevor Dodds?

Nope; he does have a connect to Omd tho because his Dad won the Sperrgebiet Open a couple of times (I think) and he may have too.
Hi Wessel
As far as I know it is Trevor
Regards to all
Gerrit
The trevor Dodd you are thinking of lived across the road from me at 1st Ave.
The golfer you are referring to is Trevor Dodds: Height:6-1; Weight:195; Born:26/09/1959; Birth Place:Windhoek, Namibia; Turned Pro:1985;
Trevor Dodd was born either 1953- 1955.
You correct Bruce. Trevor Dodd was one of my friends and were in class together, he was born in 1953.
Trevor Dodd passed away many years ago (posted on another topic by his sister Pat).
Coincidentally his eldest sister Roslyn is the person posted on the "coming of age" topic recently!
Gyles Webb, winemaker/owner of Thelema Mountain Vineyards in Stellenbosch, was born in Oranjemund, although he only lived there for about 2 years.
Thanks Margaret, it still counts...
I thought it was pretty notable that Roger Burchell played hockey for South Africa in the Grand Masters World cup in Cape Town last year... he is hoping the make the team again next year to go to England!!
