Title: Kudu Gas In Oranjemund Again!
Post by: Michael Alexander on March 02, 2011, 03:29:45 PM
This article appeared in todays Namibian Newspaper and backs up what I have been saying all along that either Gazprom, The Japs  and/or Tullow want to build the gas power station at Oranjemund.

On top of that, sources in the international energy sector, speculate that the KUDU gas field may be the "cap" to a large oil deposit....

Watch this space....

http://www.rough-polished.com/en/news/48275.html Tullow Oil said it will announce a detailed study in the second quarter of the year on the development of the long- awaited Kudu Gas fields in Namibia. Southern times reports that the oil and gas explorer, which planned to develop the massive gas fields together with Russian firm Gazprom International, Japan's Itochu Corporation and state owned petroleum firm, Namcor, said that it had agreed with the Namibian government to come up with a revised Kudu Petroleum agreement. It said the Namibian government would also be expected to issue the company with a revised 25-year production license in the first quarter of the year. "Terms of a new Kudu Petroleum Agreement have been agreed with the ministry of mines and energy and a revised 25 year production license is expected to be issued in the first quarter of 2011," Tullow Oil was quoted as saying in a statement. The project had been delayed due to disagreements over commercial terms, as well as technical difficulties in piping the gas. Tullow said it had completed together with its partners the concept selection study for the offshore development of the Kudu gas field and was now entering into technical integration discussions with Nampower to optimise design concepts of both the offshore development and the Kudu Power station. The gas field was estimated to contain 3.3 trillion cubic feet of proven reserves.

Not surprised that Japan is interested. Their nuclear power company about to go to the Government as the whole thing is a mess due to the tsunami and earth quake, their economy needs a quick jump due to the above and their car manufacturing is also up the creek, and as their government is throwing money at what ever to kick start the economy there is lots of money around. Makes you think doesn't it.
