Title: Back to Affenrucken?
Post by: Michael Alexander on March 06, 2011, 04:44:34 PM
I heard from 3 different people in 3 different fields that a mobile plant will be moving up to the Affenrucken area....

If one considers that the area was last mined back in about 84, and that technology has changed, and the methods in mining are different, perhaps then there should be a few stones to be recovered up there.....

Anyone got a comment....?

They always saying technology and methods have changed, think its just old technology from way back making a comeback.
Nothings changed much since I started on the mine.
Basics are still the same..

If all this goes ahead, Affenrucken might have to re-open again.

Let me know when and I 'll be back!

I heard more about this tale today, seems like the Old Affenrucken buildings might be brought back to life after all..... I am led to believe that with new screen technology, there are diamonds still to be found......

Anyone hear talk of reworking the 4 plant dump and then dumping it into the ocean to make a new beach?

There are Diamonds to be found but the extraction process must be viable, so its back to using small plants, they also need to be very energy efficient and use minimal labor as these are the biggest expenses of any plant.

So its back to the future...  sorriso2

Heard about the 4 plant dump, but not the reworking part... just talk about installing conveyors to the sea.

Before CDM realised there were diamonds locked in conglomerate and that the jigs were terribly inefficient, the screening plant oversize was dumped in the sea. It was only after this had been discovered that the dumps were swung north for later retreatment to recover the diamonds they still contained.

I am led to believe that pocket beaches up Bogenfels way will be closing down this weekend and that the small plant up there will be moving down to the Affies area, anyone else confirm this?

I also heard that a whisper on the floor that there are still rich deposits up Bogenfels way, will have to confirm this with my reliable source this weekend....
