RIP Wally, am so sorry to hear of your passing this evening but am so glad that you are now re-united with Dawn who you missed so much!

Uncle Wally was a character, at one stage he and his late wife, Dawn were running the bar behind the snooker and darts club, as a team they worked the crowd well....... when you got Wally on the late shift by himself, the cigarette would be hanging out of the corner of his mouth whilst he spoke..... that accent he had, the tales he could tell, usually about their son in the Far East.....
One day, Wally was more excited than usual, his son in the Far East had invited them out to an all paid trip to Thailand...... Wally was besides himself..... talking about the fairer folk was a late night passion for Wally....
On their return, Wally was standing on his side of the bar, cigarette hanging out of his mouth, his large eyes darting up and down the bar, checking up on his wife's proximity , in his trademark drawl, he removed the cigarette from the corner of his mouth, rolled it between his fingers and declared to me, "MIke , you shoul'd check out the chicks in Thailand!" .... there was more to this tale, vivid drunken descriptions to which I cannot recall on this electronic medium, needless to say from then on, Uncle Wally had a new catchphrase...... "You should check out the chicks in Thailand!"
