I cannot remember if I posted this somewhere on here or I was just talking about it....
About two weeks my neighbour across the road was busy gardening in the back section of here house. She is a work at home type wife, anyhow in the middle of the week, she walked into her front garden to find that all her gardening tools and equipment had been piled up ready to go, when she stepped outside her garden she noticed a white bakkie, no number plates or markings on it, reverse parked into her neighbour (and good friend's) gate, there were a few chaps lifting garden furniture out of the garden, when she asked the men, what they were doing, they calmly replied that they had bought the furniture and were now taking it home. She smelt a rat, and took out her cellphone and started to dial her friend. Needless to say, when the men saw this, they dropped everything and jumped into the bakkie and sped away.....
Now , part two of this story....
I heard today, that a woman living up towards the tank park end of town, had to phone crime (not to sure myself if this was Namdeb or Nampol) as there just happened to be a suspicious white bakkie, driving very slowly up and down the empty streets.... the chap inside was busy on his cellphone whilst looking at each house as he cruised past....
This white bakkie had WHK numberplates.....
I have not heard much more about this tale, save for the fact that a third individual has also noticed this bakkie driving slowly around the area..... he has a theory.... but that's another story from a 3rd source so I shall leave it there.....
Now.... one has to wonder WHY with our effecient and very large policeforce, working in conjuction with THE MINE has not appeared to be doing much to investigate this matter,.

UPDATE: just spoke to a chap that lives up near 17th ave, works for a prominent photocopy company in Oranjemund, well his house was broken into again yesterday, 3 rd time this year... he also reckon people saw a white bakkie in the area....
Does anyone else have something to add about this?
We don't even have the town gates open yet and this is happening, roll on proclamation.....

UPDATE: Certain private security firm in Omund, reckons the bakkie has a canopy and the number plate at the back is missing... windhoek number..... They are also looking into the matter...

Uhmm... I suppose revealing the make or type of white bakkie would be giving the whole game away...
One of those ranking "new", but old policeman has been begging people around the shop for money......
This does not reflect well on the police, a beggar in a police uniform.......

I spent yesterday down at the Police station after being phoned by the police the evening before to come to an employee;s room. I had to id some SPAR meat..... needless to say, one of my chaps was thrown into the nick yesterday.
I must say that I am impressed with Detective Hangula and the constables that were working this case.... seems they had information..... So I shall give credit where it is due.... Well done NAMPOL....
On a 2nd matter, whilst I was down there I managed to have a wee chat with an officer about the general trend of crime in Oranjemund.... He reckons ,overall the crime rate has dropped, but they still have petty crimes occurring with Assault by drunken couples is a major problem in the town.....
Well I found it interesting....
Oranjemunds first white cop arrived yesterday in town,mmmmm a sign that the times are changing... bravo
