Peet Bezuidenhout's daughter Lynette asked if I would post this notice for her:

My Father Peet a long standing Oranjemunder Passed early this morning (4am) after an extremely brave fight with cancer....ashes to be spread at Meob Bay - his wishes xxx -

Sad News this, another of our town's past characters moving onto the great mine in the sky,

Marlene and Peet were in town not to long ago, it was great to see them back then,

Marlene , our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.....

there seem's more of the "old school" up there these day's than us crowd down here....

It was a nice service in the Dutch Reformed Church for Peet last night, about 30 people were in attendance .... Johan did the service, very nice one at that....

The interesting part is this, Marlene told us, even though Peet had passed away down in the Cape, it was important for her to make closure in that particular church in this town of Oranjemund.

The reason being that Peet's Father had helped build that church back in the day, Marlene and Peet had been married in this church all those years ago.... and their kids were all christened in the same church..... she felt it was only fitting that closure for Peet should be held here.... Like I said to her, Thank you for coming home....

I worked with Oom Peet at the Town Garage for many years.... those were the days - such a kind boss!!!

Love and Hugs to the family from all the Lineker's!
