Title: Parks and Gardens
Post by: Michael Alexander on November 07, 2011, 06:42:45 PM
Remember the story where I told you that the mine was planting 250 brand new shiny trees?

Well , I was talking to a person involved in this exercise today..... seem's that the 250 trees have now become only 150 tree's and for some strange reason they are not going to be planted in the spots where old tree's have fallen... but in area's where there are no tree's whatsoever....

I went onto the attack, and asked why they are planting these new tree's when they are letting more than 80 of the old tree''s that stand tall are busy dying off due to lack of water.... the chap reckons, that I should not worry as they are putting new sprinklers and watering systems in place.... that should rectify this..... three places in point, would be, along 5th next to the Liquor warehouse.... , the 5th avenue park and then the entrance to town, although I must admit on Friday morning, I did see a chap digging holes and putting in new sprinklers.... wonder why it took so long....... Oh! and don't forget the tree's along the old practice range...

Rant! Rant! Rant!..... but somebody has to do it.......

I speak under correction but am sure I remember there being trees along 5th Ave at the park when we came to Omund back in '85.

Now the new trees must go to areas not currently irrigated... check what the new trees in front of sands look like... I rest my case!

Go Mike I support your opinion.
