This afternoon, a good friend from our neighbouring town called me, to ask if I would be able to drop a friend of theirs off at the airport as he was driving through from Rosh Pinah and needed to catch a plane to Windhoek. Wanted to leave his car in a secure place in Omund.... No Problem, When he arrived, we drove to the airport and he was impressed with the undercover parking and we both decided that it would be a good idea if he left his car at the airport, that way, when he returned on Saturday, he could just pick up and go...... Now, I was stuck at the airport, but as with most country folk.... I noticed a chap in a small bakkie dropping somebody of in the drop zone, don't know him from a bar of soap....I yelled out, "Hey! are you going back to town? Can I catch a lift?" The guy, without even hesitating, said sure, It was only on approaching that I realised, that this guys car was a South African car, he was from Alex Bay and was dropping somebody off.... I was just wondering, where else could you just bum a lift with any old soul...
We had a nice chat about the future of our two towns.....
