Fresh in from the email service, some nice 1962 snaps of a few of the areas towards the northern end of the Sperrgebiedt. Thanks to Lawrence Greenaman.

The Fjord was the name given to the crayfish channel or am I wrong?

You could very well be right. My 50 year memory is shaky to say the least. The nearest building looks remarkably like the German machine shop and I vaguely remember a pit sampling the 'fresh' water source, the Tschaukaib [sp?] River, in front of the buildings. We landed on the air strip and totally missed the VOC coins later found there.

Thanks for the nice photo's Larry. If you have more , even what the streets of O.Mund looked like back in the sixties - please post them . Regards to the other " Ausie Ausie Ausie ".
