The photo above is of NASA's Lunar Module trainer. A dangerous tool by any stretch of the imagination.
However, if man wanted to land on the moon then this is the tool that would help teach them how to pilot the Lunar Module to the surface.
Neil Armstrong nearly lost his life when the trainer's controls failed.
