Micheal got photo's I want to post please assist, remember I still put my computer on at the wall plug
Alfred
The reply to this I must read with deep concentration - ha, Alfred you talk about plugs. I think where I am we still have to add lampoil and then wind the thing up with a lever before we can even get started.
(They say in the Kalahari we are sometimes so far behind with everything - we're still waiting for the Big Flood to hit us).
Alfie, read this link first.... http://www.oranjemundonline.com/Forum/index.php?topic=56.0
Let me know if you come right!
:)
Micheal please take my 5million Happy Birthday oops's :-[ off the Birthday and event topic.Should just be posted on the calender as 17 Nov just after your wedding anniversary.
Hellooooo Alfred this is your sister.Answer my e.mails will you, ???
Diane with regard to Alfred's previous post, if I was you I wouldn't hold my breath for a reply -
He's on a learning curve.
Maybe you should try sending him a pigeon with a note to say he has to plug his computer in then press the on button etc etc ......... (my compie has enough parrafin in and it's wound up tight, so it should keep for a few hours still) I'm also in a curve, but I can't say if it's got anything to do with learning.
I have struck a deal with Finbar (16 year old son) I'll teach him to use the washing machine, dishwasher etc if he teaches me computer related programmes.
So far no deal..........
I in my wisdom deleted the flash player off the computer, thought it was some sort of c.d player we wouldn't need. My daughters tell me that just because I can post online does not make me an I.T. specialist. Mom they say "just go to your e.mails and O'mund online, stay away from everything else." Well I thought I'd just browse around and try and broaden my knowledge, not a good idea. ;D
You did - you learnt that you should not delete the flash player! Tell them kids they did not inherit all the brain cells of the mommy when they were born - she kept a few. And being the nice mommy she is, she gave the good and fast ones to them.
And another ++++++ for you - you taught the blond Antie typing here - don't go browsing and delete the flash player!
You did it Alfred, photo on Affenruken single Quarters. I got a clever brother so......wella kapella ;D ;D
Sister took a while got it right, Dalene don't forget my computer speed is just like the O/Mund blinds takes a while to open, Mike thanks
Alfred

Greetings

Nature reclaims the once proud plants and installations
Georg .. too true a statement , about nature reclaiming once man leaves ...
Georg, Got a few pics for you maybe they bring back memories, the 2 plt mining offices where know as Beverlyhills
Alfred

Alfie, any chance when you're out doing tours again of getting a snap of the 2 plant tunnel?

Alfie,

I don't think your little bro wants to sleep now everytime I go back to my unread post somebody has replies
Alfred
Alfie, thanks... any chance of one going down or along the tunnel?
That power station .. wonder how long before mother nature reclaims her ? .. I had a hairy experience there years ago when I was an Appie .. One of the generator sets kept on giving low oil pressure warning .. I tested and tested and checked and double checked .. everything looked Kosher .. Oil pressure Ok , pressure switch giving correct signal .. Off to main panels .. located a relay in the warning circuit that looked as if it had a welded together contact .. thought well lets see what happens if I can prise it apart .. did the deed .. did a dastardly deed .. I heard this moaning sound as all the generators shut down vhoom vhoom slower and slower and all the lights went out .. all the engineers at the station came flying out of the tea room and there was me perched on a ladder with the offending screwdriver in my hand , no place to hide .. I had brought the entire north section of the mine to a halt ... was I in trouble .. YES ... did I get fired ? NO but close ... in theory there should ahve been an artisan in supervision but that never happened as generally once one showed reasonble savvy you did a lot of work on your own .. long and short of it was that the low oil pressure warnig light never came on again ...
Was'nt there a Powerstation also up past 2 plant?
???
Now I am confused .. we had one in the town and one operational up past 2 plant thats where I did the dastardly deed .. is this an older one somewhere else on the mine ?? Bzzzzzzzzzzz
Sorry, Sandy it's me who's confused... I only know of the 2 powerstations, did'nt realise which one you were referring to.
???
Mike
The tunnel is out of bounds been so since 2 plt shut down, they are only keeping the water out, the operator on duty there has to inform his supervisor when he goes down. I will get some pics of the shaft going down ect. Don't want to try and go down my leg might cause a problem 8 steep flights of stairs a bit to much for me sorry. I will have a look arround could have some pics from my days at 2 plant as a sparkie.
Alfred
cheers Alfie, Much appreciated.... :)
