Title: SA U15 Badminton Championship ~ Bloemfontein 2012
Post by: Michael Alexander on April 10, 2012, 03:41:27 PM
Well, it was that time of the year again, and we headed over to Bloemfontein for the SA U15 Badminton Championships. Most of our squad actually play in the under 13 group, but are good enough to aim higher.....

It was a 5 day event, and Team Namibia even scooped the Team Spirit Award, that's all us non players embarrassing ourselves, not our fault that the other mommy and daddies don't know about team spirit....

Nita Scholtz , walked away as the girls champ, 3 rd year in a row.....  Tonderai, failed to win in the boy's final, but is still ranked No.1 in South Africa.  Tonderai and Nita walked away as the mixed doubles champs also.....

Team Namibia came 2nd overall out of the 8 Teams in the A section, losing by 2 points to North Gauteng.

In essence, it was a most excellent of tours, fun to be had by all ...... nice to know that one small school in this corner of the Namib desert still produces champions....

Thanks to Lyn the coach, Herman the driver and father of the Herschel the hammer...... and off course to NAMDEB, for the the bus and having all the tyres replaced for safety before we departed,
