Title: The Bakkie and the Fish!
Post by: Michael Alexander on May 03, 2012, 12:51:23 PM
Heard that there is a bakkie parked outside of the FURNMART store, flogging fish from the back.....  I wonder if the (fishmonger) has (1) Permission to do so (2) Complied with all relevant health checks!

Adriaan sells not his fish, he is known to give them away to friends and goodfellas.... even to a Spar truck driver living in Gordons Bay!

I saw the same bakkie just now at the back of town when I dropped our maid off.  I strolled over to chat and they said that they will be opening a fish shop up near Flamingos in the next few days.

Thanks for that Sean, we heard that the old bakery next to Flamingo's was going to be either (1) A Bakery (2) A Cheese and WIne (3) An Internet Cafe (4) A Butchery (5) A Sex Shop (6) A Mini Market.....

Must say I like the idea of a Fish Shop.....

allgood

Actually you are right Mike, they did mention something about the old bakery but it didn't mean much to me as it must have been before my time.  It's actually surprising that nobody has started a fish shop here before.  Every second shop in Oranjemund sells clothes and business doesn't exactly seem to be booming for them so it's nice to hear about somebody trying something different for a change.
