Hey Georg, I bet during february this year, you would never have guessed that so many Oranjemunders would wish you happy birthday again! ;) ;D
Georg
if I knew how i'd post me singing Happy Birthday
luckily for everyone with speakers on their computer I don't know how, it would be funny though
as I am the most un musical person - tone deaf-( but fun if your ears can handle it - to go to live concerts with.)
Agh well, never mind
Happy birthday any way
Hope you had some sun.........
Thank you again for all your posts to my birthday
Yes Mike, i would not have expected so many Oranjemunders to write
Georg, the only thing missing on the picture above, is a guitar! :emot19:

Hope you can play that on your system MP3 File
Klick >>>> http://hometown.aol.com/etoshapfanne/music/outof1.mp3
Georg, the music souds good. How about letting us see some of those Namibia video's?
Hi Dalene
If you live in SA and have Broadband you can watch my videos
Her my 1. one >>>> http://www.livevideo.com/video/61BAB74F171C43C38845A31DC33CBB0B/one-day-in-africa.aspx?lastvcid=374962
I have just watched the One day in Africa video - I do so recognise Etosha.
Would you mind if I add this to my Favourite list? I hope not - still want to see the rest!!!!!!
Just for interest sake: My great grandfather & grandmother are buried in the Etosha Game Park. Don't know if you have ever seen the graves of the Alberts lot & some of the ruins of the old buildings that are sort of monuments nowadays? My grandfathers name still appears in the namelist in one of the books about the Dorsland Trekkers. My grandfather used to hunt elephant (on horseback) - lost his thumb in an incident one day when the old saloon distorted and sort of exploded in his hand, but then he had to ride like hell, 'cause an elephant in full charge is - according to my late grandfather - an easy match for a horse between those mopani trees up in the north.
Hi Dalene
I was at those graves last year, i think i have a pic or two or a video, as soon as i find someting i post it
one more video if you like it, i have about 130 in the net

Georg
Hi Dalene
Here are the pics from dorsland graves
Hope thats what you looked for
That will be so great if you could actually add the video with the shots of the graves! I promise, I will dust off my rusted brain and thank you in German! (This I must mention very softly - I have German family - my mother's sister who lives in Swakopmund is married to a German - their surname is Klitzke. He used to be a game warden in Etosha in the late 60's to the early 70's).
I'm off to bed now - thanks again and I am looking forward to those other videos.
Note to all the other readers: just click on the link that George posts - it connects sooooooooooo easily and plays the videos in Muliti Media Player with full sound.
Yes! On the last one - the granite - you can actully see the name, initials and surname of Mutti (that was what her kids called her)!
You know - taken this in account - I could actually lay a "landclaim" with the Namibia Government for the Etosha Game Park - my ancesters are buried there. That's the main reason for land claims in SA and NAM nowadays, so why can't we do the same? (I should be so lucky!)
Hi Dalene
Glad that are the right pictures.
I am sure you dit not expect those pics from my corner of the world
I have beeen to Etosha very often on my trips down south and always went to those graves
That is near the " Waterhole " Reetfontein " near to Halali
I will check on my videos, but dont think that i have taken shots there
My next Video for you (Visit to Sossusvlei)

Georg
George - hope I can get this posted. On dial-up today - lines are extremely slow - download takes forever and kicks me off on a timeout. Even my mail in Outlook still lies in Outbox and cannot send - this includes my reply to your mail!
Oh and I so wanted to see that video now! Tomorrow I will be back on ASDL - first thing I will do is to view. Will let you know.
You are a star!!!!!!
Georg, got your reply mail just now. Funny that I can receive, but my out-going mails just cannot send on this line. Same thing that Mike has complained about too.
You mention that you can start taking Afrikaans lessons now - well, I can start to refresh my German again with you! Incredible that after so many years of not speaking the language I can still understand it when I read it, but when I have to speak ---- at a total loss of words and not sure about the grammar and spelling anymore!
