I have been away for the last week with a contingent of U13 pupils to attend the U13 Badminton Championships held in Kenilworth , Cape Town!
We took two teams down for the event, an A and B section squad. A number of mom's and dad's were also in attendance ..... a few grandparents could also be spotted on the bleachers...
Under the guidance of Namibian Junior Coach, Aunty Lyn the results were of the highest order ... we achieved the following:
Champions A Section Tournament
Champions B Section Tournament
Girls Single Champion
Boys Single Champion
Mixed Doubles Champions
Boys Doubles Champions
Girls Doubles Champions
We also have the top ranked girl's and boy's U13 player. In essence, once again, Namibian Badminton , based out of Oranjemund(save for one player, Neno who is based in Windhoek), comprising of OPS pupils won everything that was available to win. Indeed a remarkable achievement for a small town in the middle of the desert.....
Congrats and thanks to all the players, coach, drivers, parents and Zzimmerframe manufacturers for allowing the grandparents to attend!

"Good day All
Arrived back from the SA under 13 tournament with wonderful results. Both Teams A & B won their sections. Our B Team mostly developed players played their hearts out and coming out on top, this can be done with hardwork , practice and dedication. Both Teams made me so proud to be there coach. What a wonderful experience for me.
I want to thank Johan Joubert, for standing in and assisting with the B Team , to Herman Witbooi and Mike Alexander thank you for your assistance and always being there to assist when a seat opens, you all three made my task so easy, thank you.
To my parents that came along, thank you for allowing these kids to reach their potential , for not interfering , and for allowing me to execute my coaching without any interference. Thank you for your support, encouragement and evening laughter's, you are all so special to me.
But mostly I thank the under 13 teams for giving everything, playing your hearts out , to please me and to let me feel the best coach ever. You are all my superstars and I thank you all.
