I was just reading in the Republikein how bulk water tariffs in Namibia are about to be increased by as much as 75% by NAMWATER....... in my own opinion , and I hope the powers that be concur with me, Oranjemund , should at all costs try to refrain from inviting NAMWATER to run/operate our water supply once the council takes over. We are right next to the river , we have great lawns and parks that are unique compared to other dry towns in NAMIBIA and one can only fear that if water rates are set to high, then we stand to lose a number of our green gardens in the town. We will have to be wise and set aside a fund for the long term replacement of our ageing infrastructure. Needless to say, the council will not be able to do this without the generosity of NAMDEB....
Anyone else have thoughts on the matter?
