I found this interesting .... on this morning's flight, we were flying over barren bedrock and abandoned dams..... grey and desolate..... then lo and behold at one pond, where the pipeline cuts through, the most striking green algae had managed to burst forth under the bright southern sunlight...... just goes to show.... life can appear in the strangest of places....
Very Interesting - For some or other unexplained reason I believed that Alge in fresh water is green , but grey ish / pink/ whitish or red in seawater
The water is probably mostly fresh water..... comes from rain and mist that's gathered up by the rocks and slopes of the dumps.
Use to have a pond behind a dump at 4 plant with river reeds...... when the sea wall broke it was destroyed. cat1.gif
The geese and ducks use to love it... sorriso2
