Over the last week, the Spar burglar alarm has been going off at numerous times during the night..... Jacques would rush out expecting to find an armed gang cutting into the safe.... but, Alas.... twas not to be..... not a single soul to be found inside the darkened Spar during the cold mornings.... after 5 days... I was talking to one of my workers, when he informed me that when he was cleaning the floors first thing in the morning, he spotted a feline figure darting behind a fridge.... at last! we knew we had our intruder..... now to catch the Feral beast..... and more importantly, how did it get into the store..... we thought , that perhaps it had snuck in whilst we had the back doors open to clean the trolleys.... Anyhow.... I offered a $300 reward to any staff member who could capture the fleeing feline..... this afternoon I was called to the bulkstore.... half the workforce were armed to the teeth with cardboard boxes and the odd broom.... traditional weapons of your standard retailer...... they had cornered a wee black cat under a shelf.... each employee competing for the spoils of the hunt.... and just like magic.... the black cat was gone... turns out, under a bulkstore shelf...was a wee hole where the old fridges had been fed their cold air..... long since removed, out of sight.... the hole had never been covered...... the cat, free to roam the high roofs at Spar, but never to enter again..... and sleep aplenty for the nightshift......

At 09h30 , whilst on the shop floor doing an order.... the young black beast came sliding past me, with a worker in tow.... it threw itself under the new perishable fridges and disappeared into the drainage ditch....
