Can't believe people are still dumping their garden refuse next to the rugby field,i asked the person what does he think he is doing,i mean who is going to pick up his rubbish, got no answer ,but i will contact the council ,or is anyone going to something about it,there is a council right?.Why do i make the effort to throw my rubbish away every weekend at the dumps ,my reason.... i care about the town,so if you don't care about your surroundings... bugger off...
I agree with you Adriaan... I see the tree belt along 3rd street between 7th and 14th avenues is being turned into a tip again for garden refuse.
My question to the public is this: If you have a gardener (other than a garden service contractor) tending your yard, do you ever give instruction as to what he/she should do with the garden refuse? Do you remove it yourself, get a contractor to remove it or do you just leave your trusty gardener to find his/her own means of disposal?
This is a very real issue in Oranjemund as many of us "old timers" were used to the green dots on the fences at strategic spots for dumoing garden waste in the town before the yellow telecon skips were introduced. Perhaps some of us have not opened our eyes and looked around us in the streets of our neighbourhood to see that even the skips have gone... for quite a few years now.
Folks... do your bit... not only keeping your pavement/sidewalk/grass verge clean & tidy but disposing of the waste at the correct location. If you are unsure... ask, it won't hurt but a messy town does!!!
