Scanned this image from a 1989 Newsletter, can you guess which two of the four still reside in Oranjemund?
:ciupa1:
The two on the left
Wrong Alfie, the two end young ladies...............
Something wrong with Alfie?
OFM on the brain.....

Oh .... funny ... man ....
Photo left and your left thats the two on the left
HUH....!!!!!
Alfie is a bit confused Adriaan, maybe it's since he was on the radio and locked in a soundproofed room..............
:wow1: Best LEFT alone, me thinks.....
Come on guys it's not that
Step 1 - you look at photo the person on your left
Step 2 - the people in the photo look at you there left
Step 3 - so the person on the left and the person on the right
Now was that so difficult
lol Test2013 woo_hoo
Alfie, don't try to escape from this one. Your sounding as if you have been trying you sister Diana's red juice
Me thinks Alfie has lost the plot..
"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."
Abraham Lincoln
16th president of US (1809 - 1865)
I get you brother dear....wine makes you clever.....the person on my left and the person on the photo's actual left.....not the two in the middle sorriso2
Typical of the Boehme clan to stick together. You see Diana even admits it's a wine thing........... drinking-41

ordinary street scenes. not living in OM anymore
Hennie, that looks like Martin Sshoeman in the top photo
Yes Mike , its him on the right - black hair . they spent many years in Witsand , but heard that they moved to Strand a year or so ago . Martiens Schoeman Office equipment tech . I think his son is still in O Mund
Hi Hennie, as far as we know, Martiens still lives in Witsand. If he moved to the Strand, I'm sure we would have heard something and yes, his son Phillip still lives in Oranjemund and works in the Projects section
some more bad pictures OM 34 years ago
a few more
last of the bad pics.
"why post bad pictures ? " one of these days it will all just be memories of the older people . Quoting Mike Stenson ... {The company is going get rid of everything that s not directly connected to mining.
The town will go, including the swimming pool so enjoy it while you can.
The school will go and the hospital and all services connected with it.
The library will go to and more can't think of them now.}
I beg to differ. I am sure there are elements in the management structure that realise in order to attract the "right" kind of skills to operate the mine that they need certain non core entities to be in place in the township, like a good school, clean, safe town , who would want to come and live in a dust bowl in the desert, the original custodians of the mine realized this back in the day, the current leadership would be wise not to forget this......
Thats Piet Nel in the tele exchange pic
