There was this lanky chap with an American accent standing at the front of the SPAR this afternoon, he was sporting a SWAPO beret, turns out that he is none other than ex Oranjemunder, Tim Guile.
Tim was in adult education at CDM until he was asked to leave Namibia around 1979.... this man can speak multiple languages and has travelled to the four corners of the earth. Ironically he arrived all the way from the Pacific Island of Guam with a globe in his hand.....
His daughter Thandi was born in the Oranjemund Hospital.
It was interesting to hear all the familiar names from the past being mentioned...
Hope he enjoys his stay back in the township....
allgood
Hope Tim has
he was staying just down the street from me , and when he left , he gave me his wooden bankie. hand painted by ... I think his wife
Remember Tim ,, was a bit controversial in those days ,,
Well Tim left on this fine east wind winter morning in Omund, for once the National Airline was an hoyr early.....Mwaala and I took Tim to Hohenfels, the flood plain behind the Log Cabin...... On the ay to the airport, we saw ostrich, gemsbok, heron, flamingo and springbok..... Good morning... Tough living in africa...... Littleknown fact ..... Tim the American is fluent in nine languages, including, Nama,Damara,German,Afrikaans, oshiwambo, japanese.... A great talker that promised to return....
