Title: Christmas Tree Fairground Removed!
Post by: Michael Alexander on October 08, 2013, 12:10:09 PM
Well it only took close on an entire decade, but last Friday I happened to see that there were Vehicles in the abandoned Fairground.

The Big Wheel, Rolling Drum, The Dragon, Flying Planes..... all being dismantled and removed...

As an old Oranjemunder, Who almost 40 years ago as a child had the pleasure of riding on those rides...

A moist moment indeed.....

An Old Oranjemunder just sent me this snap , back in the day when the dragon was still a beast!

(Anyone want to name the chap with the shorts standing next to the Dragon for a Karma point?)

Geez....I agree Michael. Sad to see the rides go. The first time that rolling barrel was used Sean almost got his arm ripped off between the tyres and the barrel.

I just remembered that ride, where they had the big projector in a tube, with seats configured resembling a plane.... they had used the chopper and somebody had video taped the ride, this was then played back on the screen giving one the impression that you were actually flying....
