A bit late, but another article in the papers where Tony refers to Oranjemund.
For what it's worth, I'm going to try out his recipe for fish in batter....

I made Battered fish & Chips a few days ago, not as good as I would normally have made it....
Anyhow, it was interesting to notice how family members were "picking" at the batter crumbs that I scoop off and leave in the serving dish....
Then a memory of old Oranjemund came to mind.... I was telling Shannon about the Moths serving Fish and chips down at the Mule Derby, I explained how awesome this batter of that particular event was.....
The disgusting side, as far as she was concerned, was how as young lad's the following day, whilst the boy's from CDM were packing up the various stalls and rides, we would scoop the left over bits of batter out of the oil from the fish pans......
Sure! I might get cancer from this one day...... but as far as I can recall, it tasted damn! Lekker!
