Heard from a source yesterday that springbok skins were found down at the Baghdad hostels recently....
When driving to the beach, one would always encounter that small herd of 50-60 springboks heading to the river for a drink, I was wondering how long it would be before the local wildlife (and potential tourist attraction) would start to be culled ...... sad thing is , nobody appears to give a toss and when we look again in two years from now..... no wild beasts will be roaming our town no more..... and with it , one less thing to amaze tourists with.......
Sad that it has come to this......
But I guess, with it all goes hand in hand with the dead trees and sandy lawns that were once grass of a once unique town......
