Well, the township's water problems are now becoming a major issue.....
Yet another massive pipe burst down on first avenue.....
I was talking to a source in the local water reticulation industry..... and he was commenting how bad the entire system has become.........
What is even more scarier, is how on earth do the power's that be expect this town to be a normal municipality with such poor and crumbling infrastructure.
Make no mistake, the electricity network is not far behind the water.......
We discussed the solution to these two critical services a year ago, there is only one solution and it will take time and money......
Mile' Pudar warned about this happening before he retired a few years ago, but nobody cared to listen......
Ouch! That's a LOT of water!
Mike A , the powers to be knew about these issues about twenty years ago, nothing was done then and nothing will be done now.....................
..... and the same pipe burst again last night.......
The madness continues......
Stop patching up the pipes.... you are wasting time and money....
Put out tenders to replace the entire system over a five year period...
Appoint 4 QUALIFIED contracting companies....
Appoint qualified and competent Service level controllers to make sure the phases are done correctly...
Divide the town into 4 sectors....
Start the project...
This will :
1) Ensure Oranjemund's future
2) Show that the mine is serious about investing back into the town
3) Create Employment.
After the project is complete, the mine can do an official Handover to the council...
a similar thing should be done with the electrical infrastructure , before life's are lost when a building burns down due to old wiring.....
I believe the RAC get's it water from this 1st Avenue pipe.......
Received a few more snaps from the Oranjemund Waterfront!
Love the 2nd picture with the kids on the paddleski! image201
