I remember going for my first haircut in Cape Town when I was about 12 or 13. The barber took one look at my very lopsided and quite long fringe and my very short back and sides which was beginning to grow out and exclaimed, "Good God man, I recognise that haircut. How is Grobby then? Is he still up in South West?" I think the Oranjemund barber was called Mr Grobbelar
Hahaha! WHere was the barber shop situated in Oranjemund back in your day then Sinx?
I remember the barbershop with oom Grobbies!!! It was where the Old Mutual offices are currently, the entrance was on the side of the building facing the house where Ministry of Finance offices are. If I remember correctly it also had the barber's pole on the outside.
O'Mund was without a men's Barber shop for a long time , until these two ladies came to the rescue. their place was next to the Allied building society / travel agent . office
The old Barbershop was to the right of that entrance, on the end.
My father in law and Marcel Loubser's dad used to cut hair there....
