Fransie Pretorius passed away on the 28th of April 2016. Fransie and Yolanda (Landie) Pretorius arrived in Oranjemund in 1972 on the same flight as my parents. Fransie worked for the company as a carpenter and often told me that the Bulls and WP wooden plaques that were above the bar in Casey's (and are now in the Snooker and Darts club) were his handiwork. They left Oranjemund sometime around 1981. By sheer coincidence (and not known at the time) I wound up marrying Fransie's niece. I enjoyed many chats with him about the good old days in Oranjemund, those conversations will be missed. Condolences to Landie, Leanne, Michael and the grandchildren, Lua and Jurgens.
