Title: No Water in Town (Again, Again and Again)
Post by: Michael Alexander on September 01, 2016, 06:46:41 AM
Yes! Roll up! Roll Up! Buy your old mine properties in the dynamic town called Oranjemund,

As all the NAMDEB property agents feed the masses bulldust about the high property values and great future this here old mining town has, we old timers sit back and shake our heads to see a once icon of a town fade into the desert sands...

Once again, a pipe has burst, somewhere out there....... another patch job being done..... another hole being closed up to get us by for the week....

As the hierarchy seek for employment in other cities and mines, they continue the process of trying to off load their old mine buildings on unsuspecting folk, claiming a chance to get onto the property ladder..... what tosh....all you are doing is trying to fleece the poor sods for their last bit of dignity and place them in a liability position they will never get out from..... The housing allowance may look good, but due to the state of the buildings, with every passing year, the value to keep the buildings standards up to scratch become higher and will eventually swallow that allowance.

As stated in previous posts, old timers like Milo and Peter warned that the towns infrastructure was past it's sellby date back in the early 90's

How dare you try and squeeze the last bit of cash from and aging town.......

Without Diamonds there is and will be no Oranjemund!

The only way out for all concerned, DROP THE VALUES BY A MASSIVE MARGIN, do what other mines did......... stop trying to fund your housing scheme from the sales of the properties.... you have taken more than enough value out of this mine over the last 80 odd years.!

When I think of the yacht club, I get this pain in my right foot... almost lost my toe there in 1974 - kicked a "stick" in the shallow water which turned out to be a rusty metal bar... and THAT people is why the "pienk panne" was pink!

Adriaan, maybe that short stretch of river sand on the town's side of the Horse riding club is available for me to grow some herbs and other medicinal plants?? I can bath in the river and rent a stable to sleep in...  I-T-O
