:auguri1:
Thanks Mike. Will add it to the 30 who confirmed. Seems this is going to be a true "Sportmans" style bash. You guys are welcome to join us. If you know of any more Oranjemunders in this area, please let them know.
Much oblidged
@ Diane, yes hubby and I are going to be there, also bringing my best friend who lives in CT, Sandy and her husband Bismarck. She was my best friend in boarding school and has remained my best friend ever since. We are closer than sisters. She was my first husband, Alec's girlfriend before we started going out. We also have 2 other boyfriends in common. Tried to fall pregnant together, her daughter and Terrick are 2 months apart. We happened to live in Nelspruit and Kimberley together too. They left Kimberley a few years ago and we miss them. I want to introduce you two, she needs friends in CT, just moved there from Paarl, now living in Panorama, I think. She is the greatest friend in the world, a really good sport.
Hi Ronelle
I have just seen your bash advertised and would love to pop in for a while. Is it too late to book?
Hi There
You are most welcome. Everyone is welcome to pop in. The more the merrier. Our goal is to create a real "Sportsman" pub evening with all Oranjemunders at heart. There will be snacks and for those who are still hungry - the pizzas are great.
The more Oranjemunders we can get together, the better. So come on those of you who have not answered yet. You have time until Thursday to change your minds and join us. See you there.
Hi Ronelle.
I hope there'll be plenty of digi-pics for the board. I'm sure a lot of us abroad would apreciate that.
I'm sure they'll be posted in triplicate.
Looking forward to giving our first show poledancing1
I'm also looking forward to the pics.....
Ronelle - Lance and Annerita have confirmed they'll be coming with me Sat night - really looking forward to it - as you said, will probably turn into a typical Sportsman bash..............lucky I have only 2 corners home to negotiate
:36_2_35:
Verona (Barrett)will be comming along as well, so that takes my total to 7.
I may be able to attend thanks Ronelle; although not sure how to find the pub - anyone who can give me directions to what us Southern Suburb snobs refer to as the other side of the boerewors curtain! :-)
Cool another O'munder from our time. I will leave the directions for someone else as I'll only confuse you.If you stuck come by me first.
DIRECTIONS
The easiest way is as follow:
1. Coming from Cape Town side:
Marine Drive - Into the West Coast Road.
Robots at Porterfield Road on the left and Parklands Main Road on the Right
***Turn Right into Parklands Main Road
Follow road untill you get to a circle
Pass the circle (Stay in your left hand lane)
You will see the Midas Centre on your left hand side
Turn into this complex
Chill Out is in the square on theright hand side of Midas
Situated in the far right hand corner - bottom floor
2. Coming from Koeberg Road
Into Blaauberg road - striaght down to the robots at Marine Drive
Turn Right into the West Coast Road
Follow directions as in point 1 ****
I will try to locate a map to place on the website. Otherwise go into google earth - South Africa - Blaauberg and find Parklands Main Road.
try this
Or try this link: http://www.blaauwberg.net/maps/
So Sams pub would be just off the map to your right. off that circle (at the Piazza) There where you can see the begining of the word Parklands Main.,a little way down on your left. Just had to do that. :sorriso2:
It is true though.
Thanks Mike - You are a star.
I made one mistake: At the Robots Turn Right into Lin Road and then follow straight into Parklands Main at the circle. Sams Pub is on the left hand side of the road.
We will put baloons on the outside of the pub as a marker. Hows that??
Hi there - My mistake - It is Link Road not Lin.
Furthermore I notice Parklands Main goes left past the circle and to the right of the circle.
Please Keep to your left - do not go round the circle.
Another option - You can also follow - Blaauberg into Gie Road all the way down to Parklands Main Road if you are coming from Koeberg road's direction. There are plenty different roads leading to Chill Out - I am using the easiest directions.
If anyone gets lost please phone me on 083 375 9947 and I will assist you.
See you all there
Ronel
I would like to join you at the reunion tomorrow night. My cousin Margaret and Linda (Annett) may also attend.
Sheila Fry
You are most welcome. I will have a bunch of green, gold and maroon ballons blowing in the square where Chill Out is.
Please look out for them. You will not be able to miss the Pub. Hope to see quite a few familiar faces there tomorrow. Be prepared for a long night.
Hi
to all of you going to the reunion tomorrow night, have a ball dont do anything i wouldn't do and please give my regards to everyone, have a drink for me.
Please tell Sam Seal i say hi.

Have a great time guys - I can't wait for the photos and the stories!!!
Michele, made the point, that I better not mope around the house 2morrow afternoon saying that I could have been there, I could have been there, she gave me the opportunity for a quick drive down 2day and back on sunday, but I'm not an appie anymore.... and shooting down for 1 day , just ain't worth it anymore...nevertheless I shall have a dop up here for you all...enjoy....!
Yeah! Enjoy! And looking foward to the pics and stories.
Hey Jnr, you still look a bit green after your Birthday.... 2 much to drink or what?
:36_2_35:
Just enjoying the comments on my capability to metamorph.
discodance Mike you must be ancient if a 6 / 8 hour drive is to much for you. Try a 17 hour drive just for a weekend. There is still time and a place to stay if you want to pop down. Come on now. Based on tonight's success we are planning to arrange a get together like this every year. So come on people, pop in and show your faces. Still did not hear from Wayne or Ivan - are you guys coming. Also Alfred are you poping in.
Michelle dawoman not to many wives would be so cool. Michael I hear you, but it would have been great to have you there you are "PaPa Forum after all" Barbara as to postong photo's Sunday morning? Silly girl we'll still be partying. discodance

Man! If only I knew Somebody with a Leare Jet!
quickdop
Well guys - what can I say. Firstly a huge thanks to all Oranjemunders that joined us last night. What a great evening. We have decided to make this a yearly jol. It was a great time just chatting, showing photos and drinking. O boy did some of them look great at the end of the evening. Unfortunately I could not stay untill the end because hubby got rather pale in the face and I just got him home in time. The rest of the evening he spend talking to Louis his porcelain friend.
Hasie and Vlooi was not far behind. Would love to know how they feel this morning. See pics. Mike I am going to email the pics to you again - would you be so kind as to place it under this section. Great pics. Thanks! But can anybody help with the names?
I believe I recognised Florrie, SandyB...
:emot112_2: to Ronelle for a great evening. Neadless to say the oldies out partied the youngsters again.I suppose its because they have this affinity with that porceline friend of theirs. It's nice to have seen the people that use this forum and not to have this 18yr old image of them in my mind anymore. The cool thing about ex-O'munders is that even though a lot of us didn't mix as youngsters we "gaan aan" like long lost buddies.Even the age gaps don't count anymore. Richard also has a lot of nice pics I trust he will be posting them soon.
Once again thnx Ronelle cheers to you
P.S. Sandy B kept his shirt on all nite.
Glad you all had a good time, pic's look great, many faces didn'r recognise, but tell me there names and i might remember. Daina didn't you take any pic's. Like always oldies out do the youngsters, we know how to party.

Great photos guys - looks like ye had an absolute blast
Just arrived back in Kimberley. Thanks so much Ronelle for organising the reunion. Trip was worth it. Never clicked who Sam was and finally realised Sam's wife is one of my best friends from Centaurus, so great to see Rene again, we are definitely going to keep in touch. Also never expected to see Marshall there, if I had known he was going to be there, I would have brought my Dad with. My Dad used to think the sun shone out of Marshall's arse. At least got a photo and a hug to give my Dad. Going to try and figure out the camera etc and will post my pics when I get it right. The only negative about the night, there were not enough faces from the past. Where were all those that said they would be there? Oranjemunders are not Ja-broers. To all that were there that I knew and chatted to, it was great to see you all, especially, Diana, Diana, Sandy B, Rene, Ronelle, Patricia, Sheila, Peter, Delia etc, sorry if I've left someone out.
Was that Marshall Van Rensberg Florrie
Hi Barbara, yes it is.
Sorry everyone, I have just fired my photographer, he didn't set the camera properly, the pictures look terrible. Will have to teach myself how to use this camera so that I can take at the next reunion. Luckily the pictures posted already look great, thanks to those photographers.
Yes and a good time ahd by all ... Richard sent the pics to me obviously hoping that I would post them with comment . unfortunately I am going to be very distracted and busy the next couple of days we ahve a BRC audit coming up on tuesday / wed .. so I sent them to Mike to post .. youre going to have to ask for names from a wise one like Dianna ...
Looks as though it was a good time had by all; had every intention of being there but too much to get done vefore I oleave for USA (10 days) on Tuesday. Hope I can one at a different time.
What a blast from the past!!! It was great to meet up and remember all the good times that were had by one and all. The memory jogging that happened last night was such fun! Great to see everyone again! Thanks Ronelle for all your arrangements and thanks to Sammy and Rene for opening your "doors" to the old crowd.
I certainly look forward to being at the next one!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Patricia
Florrie glad to hear you are back home safely. Thanks to you and Patricia who made such long trips just to join us for one evening. It was great to see both of you again. Annerita dit was great om jou weer te sien!!! Also thanks to everyone who joined us on Saturday evening. Without you guys we would not have had such a blast. I would have loved to stay till the end, but the Jaggermeister down-downs got the better of hubby. Vlooi hoe het jy gevoel sondag oggend? Hasie the same question goes to you. It was a treat to see so many old faces again.
I am already planning a bigger bash for next year. Hopefully we can make this a yearly get-together and have more people join us. This was basically a trial run and the outcome was great.
Thanks again to all of you!!!
Ronelle / Sammy - thanks for organising such a cool night - felt like I was back in o'mund - good to catch up and see all the old faces. Wish we could do it every weekend - although I don't know if my liver would agree............till next time
e154
Nice to see so many at the reunion
Dont recognize many, but does that matter ?
Oranjemunders are all friends.........
Mike thank you for posting the photographs I sent to Sandy.
Yes it was a fantastic evening - thank you Ronelle!
It was good making contact with old friends and work colleagues - some whom I have not seen in 30 years!
Sorry if I did not manage to speak to everybody, but a lot of water has flown under the bridge and a lot of catching up had to be made.
Thanks again for the brilliant night.
Richard
I really enjoyed looking thru these pix. Judging by the all the smiles, it looked absolutely awesome!! Was so nice to see Geraldine. Florrie, finally I can confirm, I now know a name to the face I've seen in and around town in Kby!!!! Its puzzled me for far too long. You and I didnt know each other in Omund but I certainly recognised you from Omund. Linda, I was amazed to see you on a pic. I havent seen you since school!!! (OPS??)
Yvette post a picture so that I can also recognise you. We should meet for coffee if you are still in Kimberley.
Florrie, coffee sounds good name the time and the place. Come down to the cancer relay Fri night, will be making a nice "ass" of myself!
Leaving for Durban saturday morning, going on the cruise to Bazarutto, so will be packing and getting an early night. Thats just the excuse, to be quite honest, I am the worst when it comes to anything physical so avoid those situations like the plague, makes me feel guilty. I work from home so any time suits me, we can meet at Mugg & Bean, any day till Friday or after I get back, you can name the time, I'm not sure if you have fixed working times?
What on earth do farmers know about sailing on big ships? The Indian Ocean ain't a dam! laughpoint
Well, the Voortrekkers came by ship too...
bling1
This isn't your typical farmer, he knows a little bit about almost anything, has a skipper's licence. We have a semi-rigid rubber duck that we take to Mocambique and fish in the indian ocean with, this ship is just a little bigger, but unfortunately, we won't be able to fish.
Ooops! Me the loud mouthed idiot is now forced to eat humble pie... :emot112: A farmer with a Skippers licence, what on earth is happening to the NEw South Africa!
Don't feel bad Mike, Wilhelm isn't your typical "boer", just looks like one. He is a real party animal.
Then in that case ..... we hope to see him at the Reunion in November, I'll organise something that can float in the pink Pan, so he better bring that lisensie saam!
:emot111:
Just make sure it has an engine, he knows nothing about yachts.
Stephen and I went out for supper last nite and decided to go for a drink afterwards at "Chill Out" (re-union pub) Lo and Behold no more pub ...gone...some Asian Wholesalers now. Ended up at Guzzlers T'View quite an experience.
Ronelle where are you what happened?
??? everything seems to change all the time .. its the bitchslap of time .. I recall babaloos .. it was a fine venue .. now just sems so strange ??
idontknow Hi Diane I think you must have pop into the wrong corner of the Centre. Chill Out is still there. They are just very quite during the week. Great buzz there yesterday with the rugby. Will be buzzing again next Saturday for the Stormers & the Lions. Pop in. Any Oranjemunders interested - Let me know - we can do a huge table booking.
As for myself, just very busy with the function side of my business. I am now not just doing weddings, but kiddies parties to corporate functions and emergencies. This is now for those people who wait until the last minute before they wake up to organise a proper function. So I realy do not have much time to "kuier" any more. Weekends are also very busy. I cater from Cape Town - Table View to Elgin Country Club in Grabouw, Du Toit's Kloof Pass Hotel, Hermanus, Gansbaai Springbok - you name it I am there. Have one coming up in the Drakensberg in November. So yes it is going well.
Looking for premises to work from now as well. Furthermore I am also in the process of establishing a business which will cater for the stressed corporate world.
Will keep in touch from time to time.
Regards
Ronelle
@ Diana .. you had too much quickdop that night ?? ... good one !! led me up the garden path ...
Good to know that chill out is still going ..
Way to go Ronelle, it's great when one's business does well... as long as you still enjoy it though.....
I was realy sure I had the right spot......oh dear must have been the "supper wine". We will will pop around there again sometime, will speak to Stephen ,rugby sounds like a good idea.I was realy dissapointed when I (thought) saw it was gone. Great that you are busy, realy cool job you have there.

Mike, yes I love what I am doing - this has been a pasion of mine for years and has eventally become a reality. It is very scarce these days to still have a job a person enjoys doing - Mine is being creative and I love every minute of it.
Any weddings coming up in Oranjemund????
Was the wine,I still think I went to the right place, looked so familier. :sorriso2:
I haven't drank with chris or the nigerians, we don't do pubs either, therefore Guzzlers was an eye opener ......chris.
