Post by: Clint Ebstein on January 22, 2008, 02:18:10 PM
Who remembers Pigsville, There was a wooden house surrounded by trees, if you dug around in the sand you could find 1pint,3/4 pint milk bottles etc. What a fun place to play. Nothing left now

Was pigsville not that area to the east of outercresent up that end where they built new houses in about 1978 they were the only houses with street names not avenues.Rose Street was one I think.

When people moved into the area they had a great big braai.

And it was called Pigsville because in the 50's early 60's there used to be a piggery there, approximatly where the Four water resevoirs are located ( At one stage security also used to have stables there)

idontknow   Just recall new houses been built there in the late 70's      Glynis and Jacob moved there and I'm sure the Delaney's where their neighbours.    Also quite a few staff houses built there.   This is what I always thought was pigsville area.

The houses that were built down there, were not in the actual Pigsville site, but rather to the north of Pigsville, those new Houses were the new extension with street names like 1st Street, 2nd Street...etc... Most of the houses are for the D-banders..... Barbara is indeed right, my father lives in a parkhome amongst a whole pile of makeshift private homes made from Parkhomes and prefab houses....these were for the company reps to stay in...this site was where the pigfarm was......
